Cincinatti, Munich

The Cincinatti Movie Theatre, a heritage building, was built after World War II as the centre of the Mc-Graw barracks. In addition to several outbuildings and a church, the barracks consisted of the apartments and houses for the American soldiers, lieutenants and generals and their families. The large auditorium, which used to be utilized for gatherings and celebrations, has become a bit run-down. It is scheduled for an upgrade to meet current technical, structural and design requirements. It will be partitioned into 3 smaller auditoriums and a side extension will be added, housing an additional event hall, bakery, ice cream parlour and bar. Flea markets and festivals are scheduled to take place in the square in front of the cinema and restaurant, increasing the movie theatre’s attractiveness as a communicative centre in this residential district.
