After a 6-week renovation period, the main theatre at the CINEDOM Cologne shines in renewed splendor, just in time for the start of Hollywood blockbusters such as “James Bond – Spectre” or “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

In addition to the complete replacement of floor coverings, cinema seating and the complete building and room acoustics, as well as theatre staging with blue LED lighting strips along the side walls of the theatre, the theatre now boasts upgraded state-of-the-art image and sound movie technology.

From here on out, a 6P high-end laser projector and the revolutionary 360° Dolby-Atmos© 3D surround sound system will provide a spectacular movie experience in the largest theatre of the cinema. The existing structural conditions of the main theatre proved to be a particular challenge, especially during the conversion of the architectural and room acoustic requirements in conjunction with fire protection and architectural statics.
