Bergheim Multiplex Movie Theatre
An eye-catching cinema complex with event and food service facilities is scheduled to be built on an inner-city lot located along the old city wall. In addition to 7 auditoriums, a two-storey restaurant with a bar, café and cabaret stage, there will be an open-air cinema with outdoor dining on the roof-top with romantic views over the old town. The exterior design will come alive with cubes bursting from the auditoriums through the façade on 3 sides, and the glass fronts illuminated at nighttime offering a view to the inside.
An arched footbridge will connect the upper public spaces and auditoriums across the Kleine Erft river with the Medio event centre, also to be clad in patinated copper. In the lower movie theatre foyer, there will be a city history exhibit displayed along the integrated city wall for waiting visitors and patrons.
