Baikonur, Almaty, Kazakhstan

This project involves the revival of a historic cinema in the centre of Almaty, named after the Russian-Kazakh rocket launching station Baikonur. In addition to converting it to contain several auditoriums, its design is to reflect the theme of outer space: auditoriums looking like other planets, spaceships and astronauts on the facades, as wall design or as light-objects create an experience of space that is out of this world.
